General Vet Services

Ensure your pet's health with regular veterinary check-ups and exams.

Although the physical examination is the most basic of the services we offer, it is also the most important. A thorough exam provides us with essential insight into your pet's overall health and helps us detect changes before they become more serious. By identifying problems early, we can begin treatment promptly and improve outcomes, ensuring your pet enjoys the best quality of life possible.

What We Look For

During a physical examination, our veterinary team carefully observes and evaluates your pet from nose to tail. This includes checking their skin and coat for parasites or infections, listening to the heart and lungs for any irregularities, and palpating the abdomen and other areas to assess organ function or detect abnormalities. Even subtle signs, such as changes in weight, dental health, or mobility, can provide valuable clues about your pet's well-being.

When Additional Testing Is Needed

While a physical exam gives us an excellent overall picture of your pet's health, there are times when additional testing is recommended. Bloodwork, urinalysis, or diagnostic imaging such as x-rays or ultrasound may be advised to evaluate organ function, screen for underlying conditions, or confirm a suspected diagnosis. These tools help us uncover issues that cannot be detected through a physical exam alone.

How Often Should Pets Be Examined?

We recommend that every pet receives a complete physical examination at least once a year. This annual check-up allows us to track changes in your pet's health and address issues as they arise. Some pets, such as those with chronic conditions, those taking long-term medications, or senior pets, may require more frequent examinations to ensure they remain comfortable and healthy.
